Review of In the Mood for Love (2000) by Weaam M — 30 May 2013
How unusual. Made in 2000, set in 1962 in Hong Kong, and reads like a Fifties Italian Art House movie. What a lot of silk dresses our heroine can effect in the course of the film - how does she keep them all looking so great? It's episodic, without any strong narrative, and very atmospheric.
It rains a lot. He falls in love. It's inconclusive, and inexplicit, and arty. Worth watching, but not one to rave about.
