Review of In the Cut (2003) by Randy E — 18 Nov 2004
This may be Meg Ryan's strongest performance. Jane Campion's moody thriller based on the novel by Susanna Moore requires repeated viewings in order to appreciate it for all its lurid glory. The ending seems a little forced but the acting is so strong that it makes up for what the screenplay lacks.
The cinematography compliments the films mature subject matter. Not for all tastes.
