Review of In the Cut (2003) by Mary E — 10 Aug 2011
This was a strong effort by Campion which was pretty much universally ignored perhaps because of her uncompromising foray into the mercurial nature of female sexuality. Meg Ryan is actually surprisingly effective though this is definitely casting against type.
Mark Ruffalo is fascinating as the earthy forthright and rather coarse detective that pique's Ryan's interest. Worth a look and deserves closer examination.
