First, let me say that I would see anything that filmmaker Susanne Bier puts out. This film was wondrous! The story is what I would label as "steady", it's not fast paced, it just kind of moves along - but what a ride along the way! Ms.
Bier's way of showing us images is so amazing - big wondrous clouds, someone's hair blowing in the wind across their face, trees blowing, birds flying, dawn, twilight. So many beautiful examples of her vision in this film.
And the performances that she always gets out of her actors - amazing - no words need be conveyed in some scenes - just the tears, the look, the eyes, amazing! The subject matter of this film is serious, but what a story - over the top and excellent.
Last but not least, so refreshing to see films that are actually filmed somewhere and don't take place entirely inside a studio, or in front of a green sceen. GORGEOUS! GO SEE IT, you won't be sorry.
