Review of Impostor (2001) by Julia W — 02 Apr 2009
Based on a short novel written by Philip K. Dick "Impostor" is a solid and well designed sci-fi movie which takes place in the year 2079 when an ongoing war against nasty alien intruders forces the human race not only to change politics but their entire way of living.
Placed in this kind of situation Scientist Spencer John Olham (Gary Sinise) is not only devoted to his beautiful wife Dr. Maya Olham (Madeleine Stowe), but he is also one of those patriotic guys who tries to help winning the war by doing research and building bombs.
So far, so good, but Olhams perspective changes rapidly when Secret Service Agent Hathaway (Vincent D'Onofrio) enters the stage and suspects him of being an impostor, a perfectly engineered alien replacement for the real Olham with the main function to kill important politicians by detonating a bomb, and of course it will take Spencer a lot more than just words to proof the accusation to be wrong.
