Review of Ikiru (1952) by Isaac C — 14 Jan 2011
This is one of the best films I've seen in quite awhile. Emotional, profound, and well done in every way. Kirosawa shows Watanabe in all his phases of calm, desperation, creepiness, and inspiration superbly.
The Life is Brief song along with the swing conveys a powerful and haunting image. While slowly paced, it is at the same time perfect.
