Ikiru is a compelling, riveting, and spectacular story about the meaning of life, found in Akira Kurosawa's excellent direction, and powered through an incredible performance from Takashi Shimura, in perhaps the best movie of the legendary director's career, and one of the bests ever made in cinema.
