Review of Ikiru (1952) by Eduardo C — 09 Mar 2012
The cover is a simple scene-an old man alone in the park at night on a swing with snow falling, and yet it's one of the very greatest scenes in all of film history because of what led up to it- its significance, its meaning is transcendental.
Few works or art can be said to significantly change your life for the better by teaching you powerful life lessons, by inspiring you to become a better person, by moving you enough to see deeper truths and this film seemingly with ease accomplishes all that.
It has a 100 % rating for a reason.
