A tragicomic story of an antihero who tries to go through life and achieve his dreams. In other words, a truly Czech philosophical tale based on the book by one of the best Czech writers, Bohumil Hrabal.
It is a truly Central European story so you need to understand the complex social setting of the region in the last century, but try, it's definitely worth it. And you should obviously watch "Closely Watched Trains", another classic movie based on one of Hrabal's novels.
