Review of I, Daniel Blake (2016) by Timothy A — 14 Dec 2016
The one notorious scene in the food bank is as devastating as you've been told but... its whole reputation pretty much hinges on that scene. Otherwise it's decently performed and directed, but the writing veers between hackneyed and appalling.
This isn't a film, it's a polemic that makes no attempt at subtlety and doesn't shy away from cliché.
