Review of I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House (2016) by Anthony B — 24 Aug 2017
Simply put, I would have called it 'I am the boring thing that will waste some time in your life'. The pace was beyond plodding. at some points I just wanted to yell "MOVE"! Tension is not built by simply making every gesture last 10 minutes.
There was not enough meat to the story, nor character development. I simply did not care about the main character or what would become of her. I have reda this as being compared to "the Witch", but I felt that gave the audience a much bigger reason to watch with a far better reward for viewership.
Ruth WIlson was good, as was Bob Balaban, as always. Very nice to see Paula Prentiss, who I recognized immediately. Overall, there are better horror films to be viewed.
