Review of Hush (2016) by Aim6 — 08 Jun 2016
One of the smartest aspects of "Hush" is allowing Kate Siegal to shine as the bright, resourceful and strong protagonist - who just happens to be deaf. In what could otherwise be another run-of-the-mill slasher flick where a killer stalks the prey, highlighting both the advantages and disadvantages Siegal deals with while being stalked by a killer who lets himself be known to her elevates the movie beyond the expected.
Even when familiar tropes pop up here and there, "Hush" is compelling in its bare-bones approach to the home invasion thriller. I've already rewatched it and had just as much fun as the first time.
