Review of Hunt for the Wilderpeople (2016) by Matt P — 13 Jan 2017
Clearly the foster care system in New Zealand isn't much better than the one in the states. A sobering, touching & hilariously dry tale about the trials of parenthood, Waititi fills "Wilderpeople" with his comedic touches while showing his hand as a Wes Anderson fan (quirky editing, symmetrical framing).
The kid is an awesome find, Neill is great; it's hard to imagine anyone disliking this small-scale comedy adventure.
