Review of Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel (2009) by Natalie M — 23 Feb 2011
Hugh Hefner is a fascinating man, not only for his founding of Playboy, but also for his many progressive stances that have helped fight racism and other social maladies. The documentary is not very strong as a film.
Brigitte Berman makes some artistic choices that do not help the energy of the film, but her topic is so interesting that it does not really matter.
