Review of House on Haunted Hill (1959) by Margit O — 06 Feb 2010
William Castle's first gimmick-laden haunted house film is far superior to the later remake. Vincent Price plays an eccentric millionaire trying to prove the existence of otherworldly spirits while Elisha Cook Jr.
is on hand to act nervous as the last surviving member of the family that owns said haunted house. Superior to the remake in every way.
