Review of Hour of the Wolf (1968) by Rafaele L — 26 Mar 2008
Bergman's Steppenwolfish horror- film (term that can be used in almost every one of his films) reaches at times sublime heights and is truly, very very bleak. Max von Sydow gives one of his no- nonsense perfomances and Liv Ullmann is propably scarier than ever before.
A near masterpiece, which occasionally dwells too deep in the misery and darkness. Should be seen by serious film buffs rather than horror-fans.
