Review of Hour of the Wolf (1968) by Steve W — 02 Jun 2009
Excellent film from the mind of Bergman. This film is billed as a horror film, which makes sense because the film is about horror, and it tells its tell through hallucinatory and eerie imagery. It is as much a film about marriage as it is about inner turmoil.
Reminded me of Rosemary's Baby in the way its main characters are affected by possibly demonic outsiders. The ups and downs of a crumbling marriage are told through the metaphorical images in the castle.
Real mind boggling and exceptional.
