Review of Hour of the Wolf (1968) by Harpreet S — 27 Aug 2011
A companion piece to the more powerful "Persona", HOTW is nonetheless an excellent mood film from Bergman. He uses gothic horror as the template for a story about an artist going mad and taking his wife with him.
Bergman draws hazy lines between reality and dreams which makes the film very powerful and scary. In the end it is all a bit obtuse but yet very engaging.
