Review of Hour of the Wolf (1968) by Linda N — 05 Jan 2012
Cinematographer Nykvist takes us to the visual edge and inside the world of the lonely and mentally unstable. Of course, being a Bergman film, you get some "weird" stuff. The Cinematography is superb! (Ah.
..the things you can do with black and white.) Again, it is easy to understand why Cardiff loved Nykvists work. Note, this is NOT a film for children/youth. Adult topics and dialogue. Liv Ullmann is wonderful.
Max Von Sydow is totally WOW...but isn't he always?
