Review of Horsemen (2009) by Indike W — 20 Jun 2009
Another bible-based serial killing pretty much in the same tone as "Se7en" but far from hitting that mark. Quaid is pretty much awesome in most of his movies and continues to the same here, but there's always something missing in this that just doesn't get me totally on board.
Ziyi, as pretty as she may be, just does not have it in her to play the psycho role and it's so frustrating to hear her speak English! Clearly a casting problem there, given the character. Halfway through the movie, you kinda guess where this is heading and it's that result alone which didn't appeal to me.
I like my share of psychotic murderers with some theme based to their killings, but self-sacrificing whiney teens who want to make a point about how their parents should care more? Meh..
