Review of Hollywoodland (2006) by Graceann M — 24 Dec 2008
Brilliant look at the mystery surrounding the death of George Reeves, and the seamy side of Hollywood. All the performances are stellar here with particular kudos to Ben Affleck as the ill-fated Reeves.
The film solves no mysteries, but leaves you to wonder just what happened on that night in 1959. Excellent script, beautiful cinematography and fantastic performances. I deducted one star only because Adrien Brody's angst was a tiny bit overplayed.
This is a small quibble, however.
