Review of Hollywoodland (2006) by Chuck S — 23 Jun 2009
While the tone and subject matter draw it uncomfortably close to "Chinatown", Coulter's story is still intriguing and attractive. Affleck doesn't bear much of a resemblance to George Reeves (and most of the doctored footage is awkward-looking), but his performance is solid.
Like "Chaplin" before it, "Hollywoodland" may inspire more viewings of its sources than of itself.
