Rom-Com with a soundtrack to die for...

Before we begin:

Having worked in a record store myself I laughed so many times at just how anally retentive you become when working in a store of this nature...It's all true! It brings back some found memories.

Anyway, back to the movie...

High Fidelity is a romantic comedy about a record store owner (John Cusack) who is struggling to work out why his relationships seem to fizzle out, his latest girlfriend Laura (Iben Hjejle) has just walked out leaving Rob with a lot of questions...The sort of answers Rob is looking for can only be answered by the people in his life who know him best...His Ex-Girlfriends.

Rob compiles his Top 5 break ups and decides to contact each one to discover why they left him and try and figure out if it's himself that needs to change or if it's all just down to fate.

The movie has a great soundtrack and as hinted at above the realism of record shop staff (played by Jack Black & Todd Louiso) give it genuine feel.

High Fidelity mixes good music with a solid love story...

I've never read Hornby's book so I'm not sure how both relate but from a film stance this is a very enjoyable Rom-Com.
