Review of Herø (2001) by Nico S — 27 Jan 2016
How this idea was conceived and then written is beyond me; Spike Jonie is an absolute genius. This movie shows that live is not prejudice to the physical things that make us human, like our body. Love is just as much of an idea than it is to be human.
To be human is just an idea, just be have we have a body doesn't necessarily make us human per se, Samantha showed us that, because she is just as much of a human as any of the other characters. Maybe she was programmed that way, so what? Aren't we all? This movie also explores our inability to communicate with one another and how we convey emotions.
It's the emotions that's what make us human, if we feel live, joy happiness, sadness or anger, those are what make us human. Spike Jonze, again, is a genius. Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely amazing, and what Johansson can do with just her voice is astounding.
The movie is just so beautiful and vibrant and transcends all the emotions that the movie is trying to depict.
