Review of Henry Poole Is Here (2008) by Gavin S — 22 Aug 2009
Not at all what I expected. Unfortunately they took what could have been interesting and made it pretty ho-hum. The screenwriter may have been a grade 9 student, some of the lines were so predictable. Luckily, Luke Wilson has a lot more time with no dialogue at all that just lets him emote with his face (way better than hokey scripted stuff).
Cute little girl, cue morality tale, if this was done with no name actors it would have been a Hallmark made-for-TV movie. Not a bad movie if you don't need to think much, but not a classic. Luke Wilson makes it watchable.
