Review of Henry Poole Is Here (2008) by Julie D — 23 Apr 2011
Well-meaning, but not very well-made--the script bears most of the blame, and the over-reliance on indie-music montages to bridge narrative and emotional gaps (though I admit to being a sucker for Dylan's "Not Dark Yet," wherever it's used).
There's a sweetness to it that shines through, but the sloppiness (particularly the cheap ending) is sort of unforgivable.
