Review of The Secret Life of Words (2005) by Emiliano R — 17 Apr 2009
Some films are like going to see a ballet only to find the dancers are standing immobile throughout the entire performance. I cannot seem to find any entertainment value in these morose tales of damaged humanity where painfully morbid characters are supposed to be redeemed when they finally reveal what monstrous deed made them that way.
I just don't see why I should - they're only actors. By the time Robbins got off his death bed, my attention had wandered so far I thought I'd never get it back and I had to watch Shoot 'Em Up again to restore order.
Boooorrrring!
