Review of Heiran (2010) by Dickie L — 20 Oct 2010
Simple, sweet, but mostly depressing Ken Loachian tale about idealistic love railing against politics and prejudice. Film marks the feature debut of docomaker Arefpour and adds to the burgeoning number of women directors in Iran.
Nicely lensed and played. Its no world beater, but its simplicity is its charm.
