Review of Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse (1991) by Elliot G — 02 Feb 2008
An insight in one artist's process and how it fell apart. The major fault is that neither Eleanor Coppola, who shot the footage, nor the documentarians who fashioned it into a cohesive package, ever really give the unfolding story any relevance to anything except the product of the trials and tribulations on display.
If you're familiar with the film, however, it's amazing to behold. Films truly are made.
