Review of Hatchet (2006) by Mark S — 13 Nov 2008

A good, fun, mindless slasher flick. It would've been nice if they had cut back on some of the laughs and shot for more of a straight-up horror movie, because at times it's funny, but at other times the writing screams "straight to video.

" Fortunately, it seems like most of the budget was used on gore effects, so it manages to be pretty entertaining and ridiculously violent whenever business starts to pick up. And I can't say enough good things about the show-stealing performance by Brandon Gonsalves.

Keep an eye on that kid, he's going places.
