One of the best opening sequences I've seen in a while! What could have been yet another "Death Wish" clone is elevated by Mr. Caine's stellar performance and first-timer Barber's razor-sharp direction.
You've seldom seen this material done so well, and so darkly. Strong supporting work from Emily Mortimer as well.
