Review of Harlan County U.S.A. (1977) by Ricardo O — 11 Feb 2010
Harlan County, U.S.A. definitely ranks as one of the greatest documentaries ever made. It's topic is of the coal miners' strike in Harlan County, Kentucky during the '70s. The film does not take an objective view and instead takes side with the miners.
It is an extremely powerful film that is totally engrossing for every minute. Plus the soundtrack of the music that the locals play is fantastic. It is filled with incredible footage. This is a film all should get to watch.
10/10.
