Okay, let me get this out of the way. The literal chinease translation of this film is "Spicy-Hand, Smart Detective", better stick with HARD BOILED, not to be mistaken with the legendary Geoff Darrow/ Frank Miller Graphic Novel.
Out of all of the john Woo films that I've seen, this film makes his other American production look like a tame, pussy ass version of Tequila, which he is not in this film. This film is a testiment to the fact that gun fights are cool again.
This tale of one man in search of revenge and another man in search to redeem himself makes for one hell of fantastic ride. "The Mad Dog", has to be one of my top ten action villians, an unstoppable force, the true spirit of a warrior.
