Review of Hard Boiled (1992) by Richard D — 07 Nov 2015
Although the plot is truly cliched (think Dirty Harry meets lethal weapon) that is hardly the point. This is action cinema at its absolute purest; gleefully brutal, insanely inventive and full of testosterone, this is easily the most influential action film of the last 20 years.
No Hard Boiled, no Matrix. Simple as that.
