F%$K this was better I expected Only the acting from the lead role (Gaspard Ulliel ) could have been better but at such a difficult character to play he did a masterful job of it. If you can get over the individualism of each of the three films this one tops the lot of being a field different. It has continual explantation of the provocation into a mind belonging to a... serial killer, a ruthless grusome cold blooded murderer who`s paying for his crimes in both 'silence of the lambs' and in 'red dragon'.
The only other draw back, after the eighties smash hit thriller was made, is that he is relitivly easy/simple to apprehend/catch in the act, taking away the precision and calculating premeditation to his feasts. There was refference to this with a statement in Red Dragon at him during a conferrence with the partaking FBI agent to the likes of ? the law has an advantage over you Hannibal, It is not insane'. Well I reackon he has all of it (insanity) because in this chapter/installment of the story, it divulges the attrocities he has undergone during and after the World War II in both east and western european countries.
Intentionally gory to the last but not excessivly. Again, set quite appart from the other two.
