Review of Hannibal Rising (2007) by Nyk P — 18 Mar 2011
Having only seen Silence Of The Lambs & Hannibal and missing both versions of Red Dragon, I thought this might be a decent re-entry into the saga.
Ulliel plays Lecter, and he's obviously the anti-hero of the piece, although you have to sympathise with his plight you also wonder if that very act that he's trying to get revenge for actually kept him alive.
Even when he learns the truth he decides to carry on. It isn't terrible it's just it has the feeling that if it wasn't for the cast mentioning 'Hannibal' evey few minutes you would just think you were watching a generic b-movie. 6/10.
Recommend to anyone who wants to complete the Hannibal saga, but otherwise not much to see.
