Review of Halloween (2018) by Robert F — 25 Oct 2018
Although it wants you to disregard everything that has happened since the classic 1978 film, it borrows from many those films; the brutal violence, teenage victims, a vengeful Laurie Strode. Th film is hurt with too many ridiculous characters that add nothing to the plot (foolish bloggers, an obsessed psychiatrist, a foul mouthed kid who runs away when his baby sitter is attacked).
Instead of feeling like a celebration of the first brilliant film, it just feels like an exploitation of the worse in horror films. A huge disappointment considering critics and the public seem to like this instalment.
