Review of Halloween (2018) by Yan N — 05 Jan 2019
The biggest problem throughout this movie was that every charcater seemed to be an afterthought. There was no development, no character you rooted for, except Laurie, because you didnt get to know any of them.
What was the point of the grandaughter's friends? Why include them at all? The reporters seemed to be added for no reason than to add exposition, the backstory to Michael's character and a way for him to get his mask back.
That in and of itself is fine, but then why waste so much time on them. Give us the backstory through the newer characters we are supposed to care about. Tell it through Laurie, her daughter, or her fucking granddaughter.
Don't bombard us with all these new characters that you gave yourself no time to introduce and no time for us to care about. Really dosappointing. On a final note, don't harp so much Micheal being able to talk and then not have him say a word.
It is unnecessary if you arent going to do anything with it. Rob Zombie's remake was better, minus the sequel, as it at least delved into why he is the way he is. You gave us nothing but sterotypical, unoriginal, copy and paste nonsense.
Two stars for the kid and his, "Ugly ass toenails." Best part of the movie.
