It was ok, but not anywhere near as scary as the original Halloween of 1978 and Halloween II. It does not give you the tense feeling of the first two throughout the movie. It also should have not given away some of the things that may have been good scares in the previews had they not been shown.
I did enjoy the movie because it has a lot of good moments, but as a cohesive movie it just didn't live up the the hype. I was disappointed, but I don't dislike the movie. I think Halloween fans should see it but temper your expectations.
The acting was good, but I think there were things that could have done better and missed opportunities that would have made this a better movie. I think it's time to stop making movie in this franchise.
