Ok for over 40 mins. of the movie, we see Michael Myers' side of the story and wants us to sympathize with him which I don't think is a good thing. He's an unstoppable killing machine and we want to sympathize with him? Why? What is the point? There isn't a lot of time with the character Laurie Strode so we barely get to see what she's like, I mean sure the police officer tells what happened after her mom's suicide but that's basically all the backstory we get from her.

Sure, She's smart and can be a little funny at times, she still isn't an interesting character. I think the film really wanted to let us know Michael's story and not so much Laurie's. But what about new comers to the film series who have never seen the original? They're going to end up kind of routing or sympathizing with the villain, not the final girl.

Another thing to bring up is the writing! GOOD GOD! There is so much cussing in this movie! Every line, every scene, and every character cusses! Also there is way to much blood and gore! The original almost had no blood in it thats because it was independently funded and actually that was scary, we drew our own decisions of what happened to the characters.

In the original, a body swings from a closet hanging by his feet and that's scary. This film has WAY too much blood and gore. also there is A LOT of sexual themes, I think we see 3 characters having sex and its just a time waster.

Granted Scout Taylor-Compton wasn't a bad replacement and I think she did an OK job, but will never beat Jamie Lee Curtis. Even though the acting is OK, the film has the character's backwards.

We should be routing and sympathizing with the final girl and afraid of the villain. Take it for what it's worth, no remake will EVER beat the original Halloween!
