Review of Halloween (2007) by Ethan C — 26 Oct 2018
While Rob Zombie's style is as always interesting, no one wanted a remake of Halloween. At least Rob Zombie made the film in his own style. However, unfortunately, there are nearly no likeable characters in the film at all despite the good performances by the cast.
All of the characters are abusive to each other and just go out of their ways to just be downright dislikeable. Zombies' script is also very poor, with the dialogue seemingly being constructed just to include as much profanity as possible.
While I like the new and terrifying Michael in this film and just how big and indestructible he is portrayed as. Overall, the film falls flat as the suspension of disbelief is broken based purely on how unlikeable and unrelatable any of the characters really are.
Worst of all though is how unnecessary the film really is as the original Halloween is not only better but is an immortalised classic.
