Review of Halloween (2007) by Gabriel L — 29 May 2013
Before I start reviewing this movie, I need to tell that I found ridiculous that people, in general, didn't have faith or disliked this movie simply because it's a remake of a classic. Not even because it's a bad adaptation, but just because it's a new way of seing an old good film that we've seen many times. Any remake is possible, some will be contreversed, but still, we can try. Also, the flick, Halloween, was probably one of the best to be remade, between all. If, let's say The Godfather was remade, that would be crazy, or for now, at least. But alot oof other ideas would be ok , and Halloween is one of them.
Now, I was really looking forward on this film and because of what I just explained, I knew that the only thing that mattered, was rather it is good of not. Now, I've seen it, and it really wasn'T so bad. It kept the same spirit than the original, and looked the same, with a glimpse of new-genre horror. There was a bit too much of the "young Michael" part, I thought, and that even if we really felt Michael Myers's insanity. Then, the rest of the film was quite exact to the original, exept for a couple things towoards the end. I still loved the very end. Over all, this movie is a alright adaptation of the original film and an other thing that was alright was the whole idea of making this film.
At in the end credits, Rob Zombie dedicated this movie to Mustafa Akkar, who revealed to be a Syrian filmmaker who was killed in Jordan after a terrorist attack in 2005.
