Review of Gravity (2013) by David M — 26 Nov 2015
I can remember there was a big fuss over this when it first came out, over how good it was and how it was (virtually) the best thing since sliced bread.
Never overly appealed to me, however, so never really went out of my way to watch it, until I saw it pop up on Amazon Prime recently. Now I have, and all I can really say is: "it's alright".
Focusing almost entirely on a single character floating about in space after a disaster strikes her shuttle, I felt that not much really happened during the course of this - OK, Sandra Bullock's character may have had the first-day-from-hell with the universe seemingly out to get her, but it failed really to elicit any emotional connection, or any real interest in the outcome of the story.
