To be honest, I don't think I know enough about communism in the United States circa 1950 to fully appreciate this film, but that doesn't mean I can't follow Good Night, And Good Luck.

In this film, Clooney (as director) tells the non-fictional story of Edward R. Murrow (performed by the talented David Strathairn), a daring news reporter, who stood up against a U.S. senator by voicing his opinions and revealing the truth through movie footage about the radical and outlandish proceedings of trying to prevent Communism from spreading throughout the country.

I admit that it was a little difficult to get into at first, but found that the film quickly picks up steam and it soon becomes apparent of how dangerous the subject matter was around this time.

With excellent performances, beautiful b&w cinematography, and a smooth jazz soundtrack, Good Night, And Good Luck is a very enjoyable independent that should not be overlooked by movie-enthusiasts.
