Review of Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) by Mike W — 02 Apr 2016
Taut, compelling, exquisitely shot, written & directed, a remarkable true story highlighting the necessity for boldness in the face of gross misuse of power, without regard to what it might cost you, even when (perhaps particularly when) all others seem happy to sit back in silence.
Further, demonstrating that such boldness would be futile without a fundamental faith in the members of a society (even one that has grown lazy and complacent) to grasp the importance of standing up and being counted alongside such stances whenever those at the top overstep their bounds or deem themselves irreprovable.
Not only an excellent film documenting a remarkable slice of history, but one that serves as a timely challenge to the mass media and it's consumers to believe themselves capable of more.
