Review of Gettysburg (1993) by John R — 19 Sep 2007
This film works on so many levels. An excellent and exciting war film, a study in courage and patriotism, and, despite giving both sides of the fight "equal time" so to speak, it philosophically lays out the reasons why the civil war had to be fought, why the Confederate cause was wrong, and why the North had to wage to war -- for the freedom and dignity of all, and the ongoing preservation of our nation.
