I watched the 4:32 Director's Cut. It should have been a miniseries. Daniels does well as Chamberlain, but, as good as Sheen is, he is woefully miscast as Lee. We never get a sense of the desperation that made him decide to order Picket's Charge, the inevitability of the Greek Tragedy.
Worse, the soundtrack tells you how important every moment is, and you'd better LISTEN.
