Review of Gettysburg (1993) by Nate A — 16 Jul 2008
Historically accurate and dramatically enthralling are two combinations that rarely go together. Here' s a movie that got it right. This is Daniels' best role, and pretty much everyone else nails their part.
Having actually been to Gettysburg, I have a deeper appreciation of this movie. It was shot on location, and despite the presence of memorials and statues everywhere, there isn't a single one to be seen in the film.
