Review of Gerry (2002) by Charles H — 05 Oct 2008
This film could have been done in about a half-hour. Protracting the story to feature length seems to serve only to allow the audience to measure its endurance against that of the movie's characters, who are two witless souls that lose themselves out in the desert.
While the cinematography is truly breathtaking and there is a payoff of sorts at the end, this viewer was left wishing that someone would have been kind enough to perform on him in the first ten minutes the sort of desperate kindness represented in the film's "climactic" moment.
