Review of Gerry (2002) by Vesna M — 13 Apr 2008
Intriguing art-movie, reminds me a lot of Spielberg's study-work 'Duel' (1971). It seems Damon and any Affleck brother have great imagination when paired. :) I am one of those who liked 'Good Will Hunting' but this is totally different: Same as for 'Duel' would be hard to believe that young Spielberg is the author, here Damon and younger Affleck show they can still write good stuff despite taking money from all those 'Bournes ultimatums'...
Don't watch this movie if you can't stomach the movie which goes blocks of up to 7 minutes without talking :).
The movie also has some cool playing with camera: my favorite is when filming 2 Gerry's walk for 2-3 minutes of non-stop filming focusing only on their faces. Excellent.
The end is totally unexpected and creepy a bit :).
